FAQs

How does online camp work?
With internet access and a tech device such as an iPad, laptop, or computer, students are ready to participate. All students will be issued an @delphistudents.org email for the duration of the class. The first class meeting includes orientation and information regarding online safety and what we expect from each student. Primarily, teachers will use Google Classroom and Zoom. Some classes such as the animation class use a separate online software platform

Are these classes graded?

No. If requested, the student can be provided with a brief evaluation and a pass/fail notation.

Is there homework?
Certain academic classes may have homework, such as Math and Writing, where students may be asked to continue work begun in class. Due to the short nature of summer camp, the instructor will not hold up the class if a student doesn’t complete their homework. Some creative classes may encourage students to continue to work on their projects outside of the set class time.

What if my age and grade don't match up to your parameters?

The age and grade levels indicated are general guidelines. For example, if a student is 14 but a rising 9th grader this summer, they are welcome to enroll. If you have questions about what level of class would be right for your student, give us a call at 408.370.7400 or email us at info@delphicampbell.org. We'll be happy to help you.

We are planning a vacation and will miss one week. How will that affect my class?
Please schedule two-week classes around availability. If a student misses only one week of classes that run four or eight weeks, they should still be able to make progress. However, we are unable to offer any discounts for missed weeks.

Are there any extra fees for materials?

No. The price of the class includes any additional materials needed. Students may need to provide their own lined or graph paper, pencil and pen, and of course, a device for connecting to the internet. If additional materials are needed, we will have pick-up days on campus or mail them to more distant participants as long as they are within the U.S.
